International Conference Veloforum 2019 in Vinnitsa on October 4-6 gathered over 200 participants and experts from  5 different countries (Denmark, Germany, Belarus, Latvia, Azerbaijan) and 30 cities of Ukraine. Conference main topic: ‘Cycling Economy – an Effect of Bicycle Transport on Urban Economy’.

During the three days at Veloforum 2019 there were lectures, presentations of researches, discussions, workshops, excursions, coffee with expert sessions, poster exhibition, parties and award ceremony of the Bicycle Employer 2019 competition in Vinnitsa. “This is the 11th Veloforum in Ukraine, which we have organized together with our local partners. Each Veloforum enables representatives and representatives of local authorities, businesses and the public sector to learn, get acquainted and unite in order to make the bicycle safe and comfortable transport, and Ukrainian cities comfortable for people. This is our contribution to transport policy, civil society development and sustainable local development, ”said Anastasia Makarenko, Director of U-Cycle (Kyiv Cyclist’s Association).

The organizers of Veloforum 2019 are U-Cycle (NGO “Association of Cyclists of Kiev”), NGO “VeloVinnytsia”, Institute for Urban Development and Vinnytsia City Council. The event’s general partner is Glovoapp Ukraine. Veloforum 2019 was supported by the Representation of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Ukraine, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine and the Swiss Confederation. In 2020, Veloforum will be held in Uzhgorod as part of the cross-border project “Bike AcceNT: Bike Access Unites Territories”.
