In 2016 Veloforum comes to the city of Kharkiv

Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv (1.45 mln), has won the priviledge to host the 2016 edition of the Veloforum Conference. The city has accomplished this in a tight competition with four other candidates: Ternopil, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Slavutych.

Kharkiv is located in Eastern Ukraine, not far away from the border with Russia. The city is well known for its numerous urban landmarks, industrual and scientific capabilities, rich architectural and cultural heritage. In the 1920s and 1930s, the city was the capital of the Soviet Republic of Ukraine.

Congratulations to Kharkiv, especially to the NGO Urban Reforms that initiated the application! Other cities are warmly invited to apply next year.
